Canada Day isn't the only thing being celebrated on Saturday — the Roughriders are also taking to the field at the new Mosaic Stadium for their home opener.
To make the day even more exciting, a major half-time show has also been announced.
Riders CEO and president Craig Reynolds didn't release many details in a news conference on Monday, but did say that the performance will include more than 200 fans and performers.
"We're going to celebrate collectively what we've accomplished here as a community," said Reynolds.
Reynolds added that he's excited to have 33,000 fans pack the new stadium, and said he's most looking forward to that first Rider touchdown.
Various family and tailgate activities in Confederation Park will also be held for fans before the game.
When it comes to getting there, Reynolds advises fans to arrive early and use the free shuttles.
Rider transit buses start from 3:45 p.m. and run until 30 minutes before kickoff. They will leave from Southland Mall, Northgate Mall, Victoria Square Mall and Normanview Crossing, along with the Delta Hotel and Victoria Park downtown.
Fans have from the fourth quarter until an hour after the game to catch the bus back to the pick-up locations.
Shuttles will also be available for fans who want to attend the Canada Day fireworks after the home opener. The Southland Mall shuttle will give people the option to be dropped off at Wascana Park on its way back to the mall.
Regina's Canada Day fireworks are expected to be more than 20 minutes long and will be timed to music from Canadian artists.
The fireworks are set to light up the sky over Willow Island in Wascana Centre at 11 p.m.
