The Roughriders’ experiment with Vince Young seems to have come to an end. The quarterback, who injured his hamstring in practice on June 6, was said to have needed four to six weeks of rehab to get back to form. Young's agent, Leigh Steinberg, announced Young’s departure on Twitter late Saturday afternoon.  #VinceYoung @VinceYoung10 suffered a torn hamstring in training camp which will take time to heal and he has been waived by @sskroughriders — Leigh Steinberg (@leighsteinberg) June 17, 2017 The Roughriders also cut quarterback Bryan Bennett, who showed promise at training camp, but struggled in the Roughriders preseason games. However, Marquise Williams, who joined the team several days into camp, will remain with the team. Williams caught the attention of his coaches and teammates for the extra work he put into learning the playbook. He was often spotted working by himself on the field after practice.  I just want to thank God for giving me the opportunity to follow my dreams as a @sskroughriders. Excited to be apart of the 2017 season!!! — Marquise Williams (@1MjWilliams2) June 17, 2017 Running back Anthony Allen expressed his displeasure with being cut after dropping everything to attend camp. The tailback says he quit his job and missed his daughter’s graduation to come to Saskatchewan.
